Pardon the near-vulgarity here, but it just wasn’t as funny to me without that line.
You, the reader, may disagree, but I think I’m starting to get a good feel for who these characters are and what can make each of them funny at times.
The Interventionist is the embodiment of my own cynical side (hopefully I don’t turn him into a Mary Sue); my wife would say Mindover Man represents my own erratic oddness and occasional lapses in the ability to make sense, but I just don’t see it; and Marv is a hybrid of all kinds of inappropriate-comment-making Nebraskans I grew up with. And it’s OK that I’m cracking on Nebraskans, because, according to Google Analytics, no one in that state reads this comic.
Of course, if I go by that standard, I could make fun of people from many states.
And that’s fodder for lots more comics!
